Yes! My African Icons is available in French and Portuguese. We are working on translating the other ones. But the process is costly and requires a lot of work. That’s why it is a bit slow. They will be available as soon as possible!
When I started the book, I realized that some Icons did not have easy lives. So I decided to give them an attitude that fitted their story. For example, Queen Nzinga was a warrior queen, she was brave and was not impressed by her opponents. She had to fight and overcome many obstacles. That’s why we gave her a serious and bold look, as if she dared her opponents to try to attack her.
I think that children are very intelligent and that they can understand these little details. It is important to show them that life may not always be easy, but that they can always overcome and learn from the shortcomings. It is a way to connect them to the reality of our people. The African people.
Hahaha, that’s a great question! Yes, there will be a 2nd book, I am working on it. I don’t know when it will be ready, but stay tuned, it will happen sooner than you think.
